All Natural Tables

Lately I've been drawn to natural finish wood tables. These two from Zentique Furniture are really lovely. (Check out the detail on this first table.)

1. Gent Dining Table at Layla Grayce
2. Hamburg Dining Table at Peridot Decorative Homeware

The finish may lean more towards casual dining, but I think this kind of table can be dressed up or down. It can work for casual and formal dining depending on what type of chair you pair it with. And the options are endless when it comes to choosing a chair. A trestle table in this particular (natural) finish is really versatile. It can look good with a variety of different chairs. Here are some options (all quite different) that work well.

1. Chinese Chippendale Chair, Jonathan Adler
2. Upholstered Shield Back Chair, Baker Furniture
3. Belle Dining Side Chair, Oly Studio
4. Tobias Chair, IKEA
5. Folio Chair Ivory Leather at Crate & Barrel
6. Vienna Side Chair at Crate & Carrel
7. Henriksdale Slipcovered Chair, IKEA
8. Eames Eiffel Chair, via Design within Reach
9. Tyler Side Chair, Oly Studio

Here are some other natural finish tables. A few of them are the trestle style but others have more modern, sleek lines.

1. Chianni Trestle Table in Belgian Oak at Ballard Designs
2. Cucina Grigio Dining Table at Crate and Barrel
3. Dakota Dining Table at Crate and Barrel
4. Evelyn Dining Table at Horchow
5. Turned Pedastal Table at West Elm

I like the simplicity of the natural finish. It somehow feels lighter and less obtrusive than say a darker stain or finish. I think it would hide scuffs and fingerprints better too! Us folk with little kids (who live off of peanut butter sandwiches) must think about these things.

Thanks for sharing in our excitement as we start to build our new home. I'll be sure to keep you up to speed as we make progress.
