For all you scrapbookers out there!

Scrapbooking. It's something I haven't ever gotten into. Many of my friends scrapbook though (and are rather good at it I might add). It's amazing and beautiful what can be done with paper, stamps, scissors and ribbon.

A friend of mine told me about Wilna Furstenberg and her lovely blog and I was able to check it out just a few weeks ago. Wilna is a scrapbooker extraordinaire (amongst other things). She scrapbooks the "old-fashioned" way and also does digital scrapbooking! She is also a co-founder of Little Light Studio which offers "online classes for the creative soul". If you're at all into scrapbooking you'll want to check out Wilna's blog, and even if you're not, it's just a pretty place to visit. I particularly like the tour she has of her studio - what a fantastic work space!

For the Little Man

When our first child was born we didn't "find out" what we were having. That meant we had to go with gender neutral colours and furnishings in the baby room. (We had a girl.) With the birth of our second child, a boy, we decided to keep the look more or less the same but decided to introduce some boy elements in small or simple ways. One thing we did was create a type of feature wall where we painted three horizontal blue stripes across the wall and hung a large monogram canvass. 

We don't plan on staying in our current home for very long so we didn't want to paint the entire room a "boy" colour. This was our solution and we're happy with how it turned out. A big thank you to my mom for helping me paint the stripes.
