My Top 5 Clean-Lined Dressers

This week's round up is a collection of sleek, modern dressers or chests of drawers. I also found some more feminine, ornate options in my travels that are quite lovely. I'll have to share them with you next week. For today, here are some clean-lined options.

#1 Claude Double 8-Drawer Set by Jonathan Adler

#2 Jackson Chest of Drawers by Oly Studio

#3 Niche 6-Drawer Dresser by West Elm

#4 Eva Side-by-Side Mirror Dresser by Oly Studio

#5 Latitude Low Dresser by CB2

Well, that wraps up another top 5 and another week! Summer, please slow down! I can't believe how it's whizzing by. This is a long weekend for us so we're going to be enjoying that. I hope you'll enjoy your weekend whatever your plans are.

Thanks so much for reading!

My Beach Week

Happy Friday & Happy vacation to me!

Today is the day...I am officially off to Bethany Beach (after a couple family brunches and one Manchester United vs. Barcelona soccer game this weekend)!

Tumblr
As I've started to pack...I've begun longing for a nice adult carry-on! I am so over my wheeled suitcases and opened Lands End totes! These are not easy breezy practical.

I really want a classic, preppy, kick ass durable weekender bag like this one from Filson!

And since Ryan literally hates every single pair of sunglasses I own...maybe I'll pick up these super cute Tory Burch sunglasses...they are the perfect combination of classic wayfayers and feminine cat-eyes :)

Either way I'll be visiting my favorite beach antique store, Beach Plum, and reporting back throughout the week.
Ciao for now...

Designer Feature: Windsor Smith

Windsor Smith is an American designer with a flare for creating glamorous interiors. Her work has a timeless, elegant feel to it with a slight feminine flare. She uses texture, colour, and classic furnishings to create luxe spaces. Her look has a well-travelled feel to it as well.

Here are some of my favourites...

Did you notice her use of chinoiserie wallpaper in a few of the spaces? Completely lovely and definitely luxe!

You can visit Windsor Smith Home to see more of her portfolio and to check out her line of furnishings and textiles for the home.

My Favorite Boys Rooms

My girlfriend at work is moving into a new house, and is looking for cool design/inspiration for her two super cute sons rooms.

When it comes to kids rooms I always like to think in themes...but not over-the-top kids themes...more like is this a preppy room or a rustic room? Is it going to have nautical accents or wildlife accents? Or maybe an old book theme...seriously it can be anything! But the overall feel should be more whimsical than real.

Two of my favorite color combinations for kids rooms lately are navy and kelly green...and gray and orange. I think a great way to bring in the whimsical elements is by painting stripes...either on the walls or the ceiling. If you are going with a rustic theme...what about putting barn wood on the ceiling instead of tongue and groove wood?

The key is you don't have to buy kids decor to make it kid-friendly. Quite the contrary--you can find graphic rugs, beautiful curtains and great textured fabric anywhere. Plus, if you stick with ageless pieces they will be able to grow with your kid, or one day move to the guest room.
