When our first child was born we didn't "find out" what we were having. That meant we had to go with gender neutral colours and furnishings in the baby room. (We had a girl.) With the birth of our second child, a boy, we decided to keep the look more or less the same but decided to introduce some boy elements in small or simple ways. One thing we did was create a type of feature wall where we painted three horizontal blue stripes across the wall and hung a large monogram canvass. We don't plan on staying in our current home for very long so we didn't want to paint the entire room a "boy" colour. This was our solution and we're happy with how it turned out. A big thank you to my mom for helping me paint the stripes. (Click on images to enlarge)
